The Ukrainian Ladies
Ukrainian Harmony
Music is a universal language, our group of Ukrainian ladies has been performing since July 2022, from singing in a field in the summer sun, to many events in Churches, cathedrals and even to singing at Goodison Park stadium in Liverpool. The group has bought the sounds of Ukraine to the country and given comfort and fellowship to the singers.
Ukrainian Dance
Like in all cultures dance is a great way to show your identity, through traditional dress and choreography, the people of Ukraine have a rich tradition of folk dancing allied with the singing group Ukrainian Harmony this group hopes to perform and share their traditions to the people of the UK.
Baking for Life
Baking is a wonderful way of binding people together, with a joint activity re-creating tastes and smells of home. This is a chance for the Ukrainian families to chat and to share recipes and traditions from home, to share amongst themselves but also to sell and benefit the charitable aims of this organisation.
Traditional Crafts
Many Ukrainian people have very close contact with life in the countryside, the making of decorative objects, and useful crafts is a big part of life in Ukraine. Being able to spend time with friends making items from their own heritage and experience is so helpful for their Health & Wellbeing. We facilitate this with regular sessions to involve as many Ukrainians as possible.
Art Therapy
Art has long proved to be a benefit to people having experienced trauma, the chance to relax among others who have similar lived experiences allows them to express themselves on paper and canvas. The art produced is moving and clearly illustrates the events of the past months and the hopes for the future. Every week the group come together to share their experiences and create new art. The young people are a driving force in this group.
